When an advisory firm is acquired, the clients are often the last to feel the full weight of the change—and the first to wonder whether the relationship still fits. Brickley Wealth Management is structured differently: employee-owned since 1999, rooted in CPA practice since 1985, and operating under a formalized succession plan built for the long term.

Your Advisory Firm Changed Hands. Should You?

If your investment firm was acquired—or if you’re sensing that things feel different—you’re not alone. Acquisitions are good for sellers. For clients, the experience can be different—especially when the advisors who built relationships with you have moved on to the next chapter of their own. We understand that feeling, and we’ve structured our firm around long-term stability.

Our investment practice has been employee-owned since 1999. No outside investors. No private equity. No acquisition offers we’re entertaining. Our ownership stays exactly where it belongs: with the people who serve you every day.

The integration is designed to be comprehensive - combining tax planning and investment advisory under one roof. Our CPA firm was founded in 1985, giving our clients an integrated combination of genuine tax planning expertise alongside investment advisory—not two separate firms loosely coordinating, but one integrated team that sees your full financial picture.

We formalized our internal succession plan in 2018. The next generation of advisors and CPAs was identified, developed, and invested in—so the team you meet today is the team we’ve built for the long term. Our internal succession plan is designed with continuity in mind. If you’ve been through a merger, a rebranding, or another ownership change and you’re wondering whether it’s time to find a firm that puts continuity first—we’d like to have that conversation.

Our Firm History

  • Since 1985: CPA firm roots—tax & planning expertise
  • Since 1999: Employee-owned investment practice
  • Since 2018: Succession plan active—continuity is built in

Let’s talk

Thinking about making a change? We’re happy to have a no-pressure conversation about what a transition would look like and whether we’re the right fit for you.

Should I switch advisors after my investment firm is acquired?

An acquisition is a reasonable moment to reassess the fit, since ownership changes often shift a firm's priorities, personnel, and service model over time. It's worth asking about the new owner's structure, the succession plan, and whether tax and investment advice are genuinely integrated—those answers tend to reveal whether continuity is built in or simply hoped for.
